Union City Public Works is in the process of picking up limbs.
Public Works director Steve Ladd said there have been two boom trucks running all week and the department will be running on Saturday as well. They are currently in the northeast section of the city, he said.
“We ask for people’s patience. We’re working steadily every day trying to get what we can get,” he said, adding residents are asked not to place their limbs in the street.
Limbs placed in the street hinder the flow of water if the area experiences a rainfall and could stop up the drainage system. Ladd said if his department finds limbs placed in the street, they may push them into the resident’s yard.
He also requested that limbs and other garbage and debris be kept separate. Ladd said his department will not pick up piles of limbs which include other items and, instead, will leave a note on the resident’s door requesting the items be separated.
