James Joseph “Jim” Martin, 77, of Martin, died May 21, 2011, at his residence.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church in Martin with Father Joseph Paolozzi officiating with Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be at the funeral from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday with a Rosary to being at 7 p.m.
Martin was born Sept. 26, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio, son of the late Fredrick and Aura Morin Martin. He was a graduate of Dayton University, was retired from Martin Brothers Container & Timber Products Corp. and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Karen Nordhaus Martin of Martin; four sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Rosalyn Martin of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Andrew and Breda Martin of Anaheim, Calif., Paul and Kristena Martin of Fullerton, Calif., Peter and Carol Martin of McComb, Miss.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Maureen Boucher of Tampa, Fla., Therese and Vincent Mele of Whittier, Calif. and Cynthia and Philip Clark of Carlsbad, Calif.; one brother, Fred Martin of Martin; four sisters, Rita Babione of Reno, Nev., Therese Schweickert of Toledo, Cecilia Austin of Farmington Hills, Mich. and Loretta Landry of Arvada, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ben Martin, Don Martin and Raymond Martin; and three sisters, Catherine Clark, Veronica Hackett and Aura Karle.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church or the Hand Bell Choir at the First United Methodist Church.
