UTM professor is appointed

Dr. Timothy N. Burcham, of the Department of Agriculture, Geosciences, and Natural Resources at the University of Tennessee at Martin, has been named the 2011-12 president-elect for the Tennessee Onsite Wastewater Association.  
The Tennessee Onsite Wastewater Association was formed in 1997 and is a professional organization open to those working to advance and promote the onsite wastewater industry in Tennessee.
The association serves all members of the industry, including installers, manufacturers, field practitioners, suppliers, engineers, soil scientists, distributors, research professionals, educators, consultants and governmental regulatory personnel.
Members of the association also publish a newsletter that helps onsite professionals remain current with new technologies.
It also provides an update on relevant legislation associated with onsite industry.
Each year, the association sponsors an annual conference to bring onsite professionals in Tennessee together to discuss issues relevant to the onsite industry in Tennessee.
 Combining classroom presentations with an exhibit hall gives onsite professionals a chance to learn about the latest developments in onsite technologies and products.
The president-elect is responsible for all aspects of planing and implementing the TOWA annual conference.
