Parenting classes set Posted: Friday, May 27, 2011 12:52 pm The Messenger, May 27, 2011 Co-parenting classes have been set for parents filing for divorce who have children younger than 18. The class will be held June 23 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Obion County Public Library conference room at 1221 East Reelfoot Ave. in Union City. No walk-ins will be accepted. Only one parent per family may attend this session. To register and to receive further information, call the University of Tennessee Extension office at 885-3742 or come by the office at 302 South Third St. in Union City weekdays from 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. The fee is $40 and must be paid, prior to attending the class, at the UT Extension office. The class is educational only and no counseling or legal advice will be offered. The class will focus on how to help children and parents cope with the circumstances. University of Tennessee Extension Service Obion County Family and Consumer Science Agent Benita Giffin will conduct the class. |
