On a bright, beautiful sunny day, (which has been unusual), Dresden Duplicate Bridge Club met and had a wonderful day.
What made it wonderful is that Carolyn Rogers, one of our regular players from Paris, was back with us. She had a hip replacement and was ready to challenge everyone in this game called bridge.
Also on this day, we hade two players from Hickman, Ky. Mozell White and Betty Fields came to play. Mozell’s daughter had invited them to stay at her house to keep control of her two dogs. They were there, but they thought the dogs could take care of themselves for three hours and they wanted to come to Dresden to play bridge. (The dogs survived the ordeal). Alma had made a delicious “Elvis Presley Cake. It was so good that we had to fight to save two pieces for Tom Beard. Tom was not well that day and unable to come and play. He really enjoyed the cake. We also had several dips, avocado, cheese, and cheese and chives and lots of chips and nachos.
Winners were tied for first Lois Harbour and Minnie Bess Williams, also Roberta Meyer and Gene Fulks. second was Mozelle White and Betty Fields (our Puppy Keepers) am sure the dogs were happy, Well worse things could happen It was just another day at bridge.wcp 5/26/11
