Changes made in pageant

The City of Cottage Grove will not be requiring winners to ride on a float in the Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department Freedom Festival July 4 as was previously required for its June 4 pageant.
Organizers also wanted to make it clear that the name of the pageant is Red, White and Blue Pageant, but any color Sunday Best or pageant wear will be accepted.
The pageant will begin at 2 p.m. at the Cottage Grove School gymnasium.
Contestants must mail a form and a $20 entry fee to City of Cottage Grove, P.O. Box 26, Cottage Grove, TN 38224. The deadline is Tuesday.
