Drug-related charges were filed against a Union City man following a traffic stop early Saturday in Union City.
Brian Cooper Goree, 22, of 234 South Sixth St., Union City, was charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Police reported an officer stopped a vehicle behind Food Plaza on Phebus Lane about 1:45 a.m. When the officer walked up to speak with the driver, identified as Goree, he allegedly smelled the odor of burning marijuana coming out of the vehicle.
According to the report, the officer asked Goree to step out of the vehicle and, upon searching him, located a small plastic baggy containing about two grams of marijuana. The officer reported he also looked into the cab of the vehicle and saw a pipe loaded with marijuana on the dash.
