Billy Joe Jackson, 75, of Obion died May 21, 2011, at Baptist Trinity Hospice House in Collierville.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Obion First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Michael Julian officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion and Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.
Pallbearers will be Billy Fielder, Eugene Hudgins, Roy Albright, Robert Albright, Jimmy Holloway and Jere Cutler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Polk Glover, Lewis Sanford, Sammy Snead, Glen Parnell, James Lyons, Jesse Wallace, Horace Doss, Aaron Boone and Randy Evans.
He was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Missouri, son of the late Joe Jackson and Eula (Butler) Jackson. He was an employee of the former Reelfoot Packing Co. and Jimmy Dean in Newbern. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Obion First Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and had previously taught the Mens 2 Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Palmer) Jackson of Obion; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wes and Suzanne Jackson of Germantown and Ches and Susan Jackson of Collierville; three brothers, Wayne Jackson of Denver, Doug Jackson of South Fulton and Donald Jackson of Mason Hall; and six grandchildren, Palmer Jackson, Kelsey Jackson and Hamilton Jackson, all of Collierville, and Cole Jackson, Tate Jackson and Sydney Jackson, all of Germantown.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Needham and Gwin Nelson.
