Dewey Wilson, 61, husband of Elizabeth (Edwards) Wilson and a resident of Skelley Road in Santa Fe, passed away May 17, 2011, after a short battle with cancer at NHC Hillview in Columbia. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Reba (Wilson) and Freemon Harris of Union City, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia. Interment will follow at the Cave Springs Cemetery in the Bethel community. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

A native of Maury County’s Bethel community, he was born to the late Stanley G. and Irene (Wakefield) Wilson. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in the class of 1967 after being very active in the 4-H Club and Future Farmers of America. During those exciting high school years, he was known for showing Shorthorn Cattle with his uncle, the late Leslie Wakefield. He then followed his dream and graduated with a bachelor of science degree from UT Knoxville, where he majored in agriculture.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Wilson; his nephew, James Harris; his sister, Linda (Wilson) Baxter; and his niece, Rae Ann (Wilson) Graham.
