Warrant issued in assault case

A Martin man now faces an aggravated assault charge in reference to an incident that allegedly happened Friday in Martin.
According to an affidavit released by the Martin Police Department, patrolman Aaron Gallimore was dispatched to a call at 93 Lester Lane in reference to gunshots being heard in the area. Upon arrival, Gallimore made contact with a black man who was bleeding from the face and shoulders.
The report stated the male was identified and advised Gallimore that the offender, Willie Walker, 24, had allegedly come into the residence and began fighting with him. The victim was then transported by Emergency Management Services to Volunteer Community Hospital for treatment.
The report went on to indicate that while Gallimore was on the scene, he spoke with a witness, Johnson Boyd, and the witness allegedly admitted that he heard a knock on the door and found it to be Walker. Boyd allegedly let him inside and admitted that once Walker was inside the house, he allegedly walked down the hallway and began kicking open one of the bedroom doors.
According to the report, Boyd then stated that Walker entered into a physical altercation with the victim and, as Boyd attempted to pull the victim out of the room, he allegedly noticed that the victim had been cut on the face, ear and shoulders. Boyd then stated Walker had left the residence.
The report then stated that Gallimore spoke with another witness, Wendy Boyd, and she allegedly admitted that she and the victim were sleeping in the bedroom when Walker began beating on the window.
Ms. Boyd then stated that she heard Walker come into the apartment and start beating on the door.
According to the official police report, Ms. Boyd claimed Walker busted in the door and immediately began fighting with the victim.
Ms. Boyd finished her statement by alleging that once Walker left the residence, she noticed the victim had been cut.
According to the report, officers made several attempts in locating Walker, but were unsuccessful in doing so, and warrants will be issued for Walker for the offense of aggravated assault.
