ROCKFORD (AP) — Royal Metal Powders Inc. will be hiring about 50 new workers at its Rockford facility over the next few years.
Blount Partnership CEO and President Bryan Daniels told The Daily Times the expansion will mean about $5 million in investment for the facility, equipment and infrastructure.
The Blount County Economic Development Board recruited the company to a previously-abandoned plant last summer.
Company President Mike Lutheran said in a prepared statement that Royal Metal Powders has found a good home in Rockford. It currently employs about 20 people to produce copper powders, copper alloy powders, pre-alloyed bronze and premixes. The company, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Chemet Corp., announced the expansion last week.
