Wilford N. Cranford, 84, of Obion died May 10, 2011, at Union City Manor Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Leggett officiating. Pallbearers will be Darryl McGuire, Benny McGuire, Jeff Hamlin, Dustin Hamlin, Larry Ladd and Keith Via. Drake McGuire will be an honorary pallbearer.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Midsouth Chapter, 326 Elsworth St., Memphis, TN 38111 or the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
There will be no visitation.
He was born in Obion June 9, 1926, son of the late Notie and Verda (Ferguson) Cranford.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Troy Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughter, Anita Adkins of Obion; his grandson and his wife, Michael and Crystal Ladd of Obion; two great-granddaughters, Daylen Ladd and Avery Ladd, both of Obion; and three sisters, Gail Snelling of Newbern, Erma Fewell of Atoka and Louise Barker of Somerville.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Luker) Cranford in 1986; his son-in-law, Benny Adkins; his brother, Odell Cranford; and his sister, Doris Taylor.
