Completed arrangements are being announced for Richard Lynn “Ricky” Collins, 50, of Hornbeak, who died May 8, 2011, at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Rev. Archie Larry officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Collins, Melvin Collins, Joey Williams, Brandon Weaver, Chad Gurien and Justin Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Jones and his nurses: Tiffani Mitchell, Johnny Kimbro, Sherri Farley, Cindy Keeling and Hollye Jones.
He was born March 6, 1961, in Tiptonville, son of Betty (Pitts) Moore of Hornbeak and the late Richard Collins. He was a timber cutter and a member of Graves Chapel Church of God.
He is also survived by his daughter, Jennifer Collins of Troy; his son, Justin Collins of Troy; two grandchildren, Hailey Grace Collins and Josh Collins, both of Troy; three sisters and his brother-in-law, Sue and Randy Richardson and Georgia Dronet, all of Hornbeak, and Sandra Pierce of Dyersburg; his stepsister, Susan Thompson of Union City; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joey and Edna Williams and Bruce and Rose Collins, all of Hornbeak, and Melvin and Kim Collins of Franklin; his stepdaughter, Tammy Jo Murrey of Hickman, Ky.; his stepson, Brent Murrey of Texas; and 18 nephews and 17 nieces.
He was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Charlie Pitts; and his grandmother, Condie (Pitts) Caldwell.
