Greenfield Library
board meeting set
There will be a meeting of the Dr. Nathan Porter Library Board of Trustees at 8 p.m. on May 18. The meeting will be held in the conference room of the library and the public is invited to atend.

The Music Man
coming to UC
The Union City Masquerade Theater will open their prodution of Meredith Wilson’s “The Music Man” on May 27 at the Capitol Theater in Union City, 120 South First Street. The show will run three weekends on May 27-May 29, June 3-5 and June 10-12. All Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available at Lanzer’s. You may call the box office at (731) 885-0651.

Greenfield School
Alumni Banquet planned for May 28
The 21st annual Greenfield High School Alumni Association Banquet is scheduled for May 28 at 6 p.m. in the Greenfield Elementary gymnasium.  The doors will open at 5 p.m.  The cost of the meal is $10 for members and $12 for non-member attendees.  Membership dues remain $10.  All alumni that we have addresses for have been sent a letter.  If you didn’t receive a letter or need more information, please contact Jeff Floyd at 281-4233 or Beth Medling at 235-2642.

Please submit your news notes to the Weakley County Press no later than by 3 p.m. on Friday for Tuesday’s edition or by 3 p.m. Tuesday for Thursday edition.

Flood donations
accepted for
Red Cross
Obion County Red Cross is accepting Flood 2011 donations at the 203 West Washington Ave. location in Union City. Being accepted are new cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products, brooms, mops and hand sanitizer. If you don’t have time to shop, monetary donations are always greatly appreciated.

GCSC holds
game night
The Gibson County Saddle Club will hold its second game night of the season Friday.  The arena will open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 8 p.m. A different member facilitates the games each month so there is always something different to look forward to.  The GCSC would like to invite any and all horse lovers out to join in the fun of their upcoming game night!

Woodlawn Cemetery in Sharon will be celebrating Decoration Day Sunday.

Decoration Day
to be celebrated
Oak Hill United Methodist Church homecoming and decoration day will be held Sunday. Worship services will be held 11 a.m. followed by a bring-a-dish lunch. The cemetery board will meet at 12 p.m.

Dresden UMC sets
friends, family day
Friends and Family Sunday will be held at Dresden First United Methodist Church on Sunday at 11 a.m. Potluck meal will follow at noon. Everyone is invited to join us for this special service. For more information please call 364-2419.

Masonic meeting
set for Tuesday
Martin City Lodge No. 551 F&AM will meet at the Masonic Lodge across from Westview High School on Hwy. 45S on May 17.
A add-a-dish meal will be served at 6:30 p.m. for all Martin City Lodge members and their wives or friend. Eligible visitors are also welcomed. The Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 71 is also invted to attend along with their husband or friends. The Lodge will furnish the meat, bread and drinks.
Stated meeting will follow the dinner for officers, members and visitors who are Master Masons.
