Mom-daughter graduate from NKU

WILDER, Ky. (AP) — When Lauren Reis graduated from Northern Kentucky University, her mother wasn’t sitting in the audience, but was also in cap and gown receiving her degree.
The commencement at NKU conferred degrees on about 1,200 graduates.
Reis’ mother Pam Schnee told The Kentucky Enquirer it was cool she and her daughter graduated together. Schnee quit going to college when her daughter was born 22 years ago. She enrolled part-time in 1999, but then had to delay her course work when she became the mother of twins.
She enrolled again in 2007 and took one class per semester until she earned her bachelor of science degree in mathematics.
Reis graduated with a bachelor of arts in public relations.
