FUN TIMES — The rain held off long enough for the Gibson County Saddle Club to hold its April show. Even though it was Easter weekend, there were participants in most classes with halter, western pleasure and speed events being the favorites. Among the competitors on the pole bending competition was Jaylie Shaver. The club will hold the second game night of the season Friday. The arena will open at 6 and games will start at 8. “Game night is always a fun-filled night at the saddle club,” a spokesman said, adding, “A different member facilitates the games each month so there is always something different to look forward to.” The club invites any and all horse lovers to join in the fun. Other upcoming activities include: May 20, open arena 7-11 p.m.; May 28, point show 4 p.m.; June 3, open arena 7-11 p.m.; June 10, game night 6-8 p.m., open arena 8-11 p.m., games; June 17, open arena 7-11 p.m.; and June 25, point show, 4 p.m. For more information, visit the club on Facebook or at
