Miss Hopson to wed Hazlewood June 18

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Lauren Michelle Hopson and Justin James Hazlewood, both of Johnson City, are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Charles and Amy Hopson of Jonesborough. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Rachel Hopson and Jack and Pat Dorton, all of Johnson City, and Eddie Brickey of Kingsport.
She is a graduate of Walters State Community College in Morristown. She is employed by Mountain States Health Alliance at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City as a registered nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and assists on several committees for nurse education. She also has a second degree in general science from Walters State Community College.
The groom-elect is the son of Donald and Rita Hazlewood of South Fulton. He is the grandson of Mary Hazlewood and the late James Hazlewood and Juanita Johnson and the late Cloyce Johnson, all of South Fulton, and J.T. Brockwell of Martin.
He is a graduate of the Tennessee Law Enforce-ment Training Academy at Donelson in Nashville. He is employed by the Jonesborough Department of Public Safety Police Division, where he is a police officer with the rank of officer in charge on his shift and is certified as the department’s driving instructor and teaches the court-mandated defensive driving course. He was awarded Officer of the Year honors for 2010 by the Jonesborough Department of Public Safety and has received D.U.I. Awards by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
The couple will wed 6:30 p.m. June 18 at Grace Baptist Church in Johnson City.
