Completed arrangements are being announced for Betty (George) Lynn Nelson, 89, of Fulton. She died 12:11 a.m. May 4, 2011, at her home.
Services were set for noon today at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with the Revs. William “Bill” Tate and Shirley Lynn officiating. Burial was to follow in Mt. Kenton Cemetery in Lone Oak, Ky.
The family requests that memorials be made to Fulton First United Methodist Church’s Willingham Center, 200 Carr St., Fulton, KY 42041.
She was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Graves County, Ky., daughter of the late Harry and Nora (Yates) George. She was the widow of Bill Lynn and of H.H. “Tar” Nelson and was a retired bookkeeper for Fulton Electric System. She was also a certified licensed antique appraiser and, following her retirement, had co-owned the former Park Terrace Antiques in South Fulton. She was a member of Fulton First United Methodist Church and had lived in Fulton all her life.
She is survived by her son, retired Maj. Gen. Tom Lynn of Macon, Ga.; three daughters, Dee Dee (Lynn) Biggert of Austin, Texas, Gaye (Nelson) Proctor of Warren, Mich., and Jan Lee (Nelson) Lewis of Bothell, Wash.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and her brother, Ed George of Seattle.
She was also preceded in death by six brothers and her sister.
