Reinhard hat trick
paces W’view win

The Westview boys’ soccer team took its hat off for Adam Reinhard.
Reinhard booted three goals and had one assist as the Chargers blanked Liberty 6-0 on Friday.
Additionally, Sumner Gilliam, Ashton Meyer and Abraham Haddad each kicked in one score.
Haddad finished the match with two assists, while Nic Fortner and Cameron Cates each helped on one goal.
Westview goalie Scout Edwards was almost on an island to himself. Edwards had to fend off just one Crusader shot.
W’view was ahead 5-0 at halftime.
The Chargers 8-3-1 play at South Fulton on Friday.

High school rodeo
set for this weekend

The Tennessee High School Rodeo Assoc-iation will be putting on its second annual high school rodeo on the UT Martin campus at the Ned McWherter West Tennessee Agricultural Pavilion this weekend.
Rodeo action on Saturday is set for 2 in the afternoon and 7 in the evening.
A performance is also set for 10 a.m. Sunday.
The National High Sc-hool Rodeo Association has over 20,000 members from the United States, Canada and Australia.  
Girls compete in barrels, pole bending, breakaway roping, team roping and goat tying. Guys compete in bullriding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, team roping, tiedown calf roping, and steer wrestling.

Big Orange Caravan
coming to Union City

The Big Orange Caravan is rolling again and it will make a stop in Union City Monday at 11 a.m. at the Hampton Centre at 2201 West Reelfoot Ave.
Tickets are $14 to meet University of Tennessee coaches at the event sponsored by Coca-Cola and hosted by the Obion County UT Alumni Chapter. Among those scheduled to greet area fans are the new UT men’s basketball coach Cuonzo Martin, Vols head football coach Derek Dooley and a representative of the Lady Vols basketball team.

Early reservations are important. Checks should be made out to the Obion County UTAA Chapter.

UT Martin tennis gals
finish in tie atop OVC

The Forked Deer Branch of the Quality Deer Management Association will hold a field day on May 21 in South Fulton.
The topic will be “The Establishment of Food Plots and Habitat Improvement.”  
Admission is free and lunch will be provided.

MMS soccer squad
has edge on Milan

The Martin Middle School boys’ soccer team beat Milan Thursday afternoon 5-3.
The Panthers overcame an early 2-0 deficit to triumph.
Gian Garma had a hat trick (three goals) for the Panthers, while Dominic Fabianich and Brandon Stacks each booted one score
