Employees at Maverick in Union City reported to the Union City Police Department on Thursday that an employee was caught on video taking $120 from his register on Wednesday.
The employee, Corey Matthew Minchew, 24, was arrested on Friday at the police department and charged with employee theft.
He was asked why his register drawers kept coming up short and replied he did not steal the money but realized he was responsible for it being gone and that he may have misplaced the money.
Minchew told police his drawer had been short a few times in the past and it was never a problem with the previous manager, according to a police report.
