Outstanding UTM Employees
OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEES – University of Tennessee at Martin  employees, Mac Kester, (second from right,) Office of Housing service aide, and Tommy McGlown, Student Success Center conditional admissions program coordinator, received the non-exempt and exempt Spring 2011 Outstanding Employee Awards, respectively, recently presented by Chancellor Tom Rakes, (right.) They also were congratulated by UT?President Joe DiPietro. The awards, which recognize outstanding service to the university, are presented each fall and spring semester to two employees. Included as part of Kester’s nomination were comments such as, “Mac is one of the hardest workers on this campus. No matter what the weather ­– freezing rain, ice, snow or blistering heat – Mac is out there, dedicated to getting the job done. His contributions to the effective, day-to-day operation of our housing facilities are unnumbered.” Included as part of McGlown’s nomination were comments such as, “He has been with UT Martin for more than 30 years and has provided invaluable service to our students through the Student Success Center. He is also very knowledgeable and helpful in advising students on earning and retaining the Lottery Scholarship. In all ways, Tommy’s work shows he is committed to UT Martin and is dedicated to making it a better place for our students.”wcp 4/26/11
