Hunter Hynds Unit meets

The Hunter Hynds Unit of United Methodist Women held its April meeting at Stanley’s Chapel with 11 members present.
President Chris Cheatham welcomed everyone and asked for prayer requests. After many names were mentioned, she led the unit in prayer.
Emily Haynes read the minutes.
Mrs. Sandra McTurner presented the prayer calendar followed by the reading of Matthew 22:23-33. Mrs. Cheatham gave the response moment and read “The Easter Obituary.”
Mrs. Linda Winstead presented “Out of the Cocoon of Crisis Emerges a Butterfly” chapter 6 of “Esther – A Women of Faith.” Mrs. McTurner announced that new reading materials are available for those interested in reading for the Reading Program.
Mrs. Becky Barnes, Mrs. Rosemary Coleman and Mrs. Emily Haynes sang “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” as a preface to the program they presented titled “Born To Die,” which is a candlelight service representing Christ’s light in a dark world by Nancy Merical. The focal point for the program was an impressive arrangement of 12 white tapers in glass holders intertwined with grapevine and purple silk cloth. Mrs. Linda Winstead closed the program by singing “Via Dolorosa.”
The May 4 meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Sassafraz for the spring fling. Emily Haynes will present chapter 7 of Esther at the May meeting.wcp4/26/11
