George D. Kelsey Jr., 68, of Dyersburg died April 27, 2011, at his home. He was the brother of Dottie Eaves of Obion and the grandfather of Melissa (Kelsey) Irvan of Union City.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, with burial following in Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Obion.
The Rev. Jimmy Goodman will officiate and pallbearers will be Kevin Irvan, Michael Irvan, David Littles, Jim Bennett Jr., Bobby Morton and Glen Evans.
Friends may call at the funeral home 4-7 p.m. today.
He was a retired bus driver for Continental Trailways and had been a police officer for the City of Newbern. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors also include his daughter, Patricia Bennett of Dyersburg; his son, David Wayne Kelsey of Tiptonville; another sister, Christine Evans of Newbern; another granddaughter, Michelle Miller of Memphis; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ann Kelsey; and his parents, Daisy (Rainey) and George D. Kelsey Sr.
