Five UT Martin students accepted to vet school

Five University of Tennessee at Martin students are headed to veterinary schools, one in a dual doctor of philosophy/doctor of veterinary medicine program.
“I am excited about the number and quality of students who have been accepted to veterinary school this year from UT Martin,” said Dr. Jason Roberts, UT Martin assistant professor of animal science, who received a D.V.M. degree from the University of Tennessee?College of Veterinary Medicine. “Acceptance to veterinary school is highly competitive. This speaks highly of their ability, dedication and work ethic.”
He added, “It has been a privilege to work with these excellent students. They will excel in the veterinary profession.”
• Shonna Rachelle Parker, of Dresden, Charlie Rahm, of Jackson, Andrea Cote, of Clarksville, and Melissa Ann Housley, of Riceville, will attend UT College of Veterinary Medicine to pursue D.V.M degrees.
• Shauna Trichler, of Linden, will attend Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, which offers dual Ph.D. and D.V.M. degrees.
