Lots of events have been going on at the Weakley County Office on Aging/Dresden Senior Citizens Center. We chartered a bus and took a trip to Washington, D.C. for six days. Everyone had a wonderful time. While there, we visited with Congressman Stephen Fincher and also toured the Capitol. It was a fun trip as well as educational.
We would like to invite everyone to our Iris Festival Dance that will be on Thursday from 7-10 p.m.
All ages are invited to attend. Refreshments will be available.
We are continuing line dance classes each Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. and on Tuesday evenings from 7-8 p.m.
Zumba is on Mondays from 5-6 p.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesday nights from 5-6 p.m. and Thursday nights from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Come on out and join the fun.
We would like to invite everyone to the Iris Festival Potluck luncheon at the Dresden Senior Citizens Center on Wednesday, May 4 at noon. Also, on May 4, we will be having our baking contest. Entries will be taken from 8-10 a.m. and judging will begin at 10 a.m.
Please bring your baked goods. All ages are invited to enter and prizes will be given for first, second and third places in each category.
We are also happy to announce that the Weakley County Office on Aging/Senior Center has been donated a 15-passenger van by the Northwest Tennessee Human Resource Agency Transportation Department. We are very appreciative of Tommy Bradberry, Director of Transportation, for making this van available to us.
We are in the process of planning several day trips on the van. More information will be available in the near future.
We have a trip planned to Lambert’s in Sikeston, Mo. on June 23. We have chartered a bus through Brantley Bus Line. We have a few seats left. If you are interested please give us a call.
For more information on any activities please call us at 731-364-5678.
Looking forward to seeing all of you at the senior center.
