to meet Friday
The Palmersville Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Friday for their regular quarterly meeting. Discussion topic will be early Postmasters and Postal Service of the area.
There will also be an open house from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Everyone is welcome to visit, share stories, work on your family tree or just browse through our collections.
A walk-a-thon will be held Saturday at Veteran’s Park in Huntingdon with a one mile and a two mile walk. Registration will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The walk will begin at 9:30 a.m.
If you register by Wednesday, the entry fee is $12 or $15 the day of the walk, which also includes a T-shirt.
There will be other activities the day of the walk to include a cake walk, food, children’s activities and a spaghetti dinner for $5. Call Patricia Coleman at (731) 986-9832 or Ruth Hunt at (731) 986-5331 to place orders for the dinner.

McCabe United Meth-odist Church will hold a Mother’s Day gift sale from 1-4 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall of the church.
Included in the sale will be jewelry, handbags, gift sets and more.
This fundraiser will support the youth ministries at McCabe United Methodist Church.

to meet Sunday
The annual business meeting of the Old Salem Cemetery Association will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Old Salem Community Center. Anyone who is interested in the upkeep of the cemetery is welcome to attend. If you won’t be able to attend but would like to make a donation you may mail it to:

All donations go into the perpetual fund for the mowing and general maintenance of the cemetery.
The public is invited to attend a Republican Women’s Spring Luncheon from 12-2 p.m. May 7 at the UTM University Center featuring the Tennessee Federation president Susan Witcher and Lynn Fincher, wife of Congressman Stephen Fincher.
