Fulton firefighters responded Sunday to a train engine fire in the Fulton railroad yard.
The fire was reported at 10:41 a.m. and Fulton Fire Department personnel arrived to see flames coming out the top of an engine compartment in the area of the air filters on the Canadian National train engine.
According to a fire department report, the train engine crew had used two dry chemical fire extinguishers in an attempt to extinguish the fire, but to no avail. Fire department personnel extinguished the flames with a hand line pulled off a fire engine.
No injuries were reported.
