Walden’s Puddle to open

Posted: Tuesday, April 26, 2011 8:01 pm

Walden’s Puddle Wildlife Education Center at Fontanel Mansion & Farm in Whites Creek will open May 5.
The exciting event will kick off with a tour of the new education center at 6 p.m. A festive buffet, including Mexican food and beverages, will be served in The Studio Gallery at Fontanel — the inaugural event for this new facility — followed by a musical celebration at 7:30.
Throughout the evening, there will be a silent auction of one-of-a-kind items. To register for the event, call (615) 646-8815 or (615) 714-4002 with a credit card or mail a check for $15 per person with the name of each attendee to Walden’s Puddle, P.O. Box 641, Joelton, TN 37080. Registrations will be checked at the door of The Studio Gallery during the event. Walk-up guests are welcome and can pay that evening.
The Walden’s Puddle Wildlife Education Center, housed at the dairy barn at Fontanel Mansion & Farm, showcases the important work of Walden’s Puddle Wildlife Rehabilitation Center based in Joelton. This non-profit group provides care and treatment to sick, injured and orphaned wildlife and will educate visitors to their new center at Fontanel Mansion & Farm about the vast array of native Tennessee wildlife, much of it resident on Fontanel’s 136 acres.
