Among the top performers were (from left) Jamin Barker of Newbern and John Coble Garrett of Union City, third place with 19 pounds, 7 ounces, $350; Mike Terry and Lee Blakley, both of Hornbeak, first place with 22 pounds, 7 ounces, and Big Bass, 6 pounds, 13 ounces, $990; Steven Patton of Troy and Glen Yates of Hornbeak, second place with 20 pounds, 12 ounces, $550. Assisting in the weigh-in was recently-crowned Junior Miss Reelfoot Lake Morgan Laster, 14-year-old daughter of Tim and Jennie Laster of Rives. She is an eighth-grader at Ridgemont Elementary School and also currently holds the title of Miss Ridgemont.
