Clyde Grover “Pete” Beachum, 90, of Howell, Mich., formerly of Obion County, died at his home April 23, 2011.
Services were set for 10 a.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Summers officiating. Burial was to follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak,
Pallbearers were to be Ricky Cranford, Wayne Cranford, David Sellhoff and Alex Beachum.
He was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Obion County, son of the late John Grover and Clora (Davis) Beachum. He married the former Mayme Opal Cleek Oct. 19, 1948. She died May 9, 2008. He had been employed at Ford Motor Co. and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Martin First Baptist Church and of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Plymouth, Mich.
Survivors include his son, Jimmy Beachum of Howell; three granddaughters, Jamie Lynn Beachum of East Lansing, Mich., and Kirstin Marie Sellhoff and Natalie Ann Beachum, both of Grand Rapids, Mich.; his grandson, Alex John Beachum of Royal Oak, Mich.; and two sisters, Bessie Woods of Union City and Pauline Cranford of Hornbeak.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Opal Orr.
