The Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, TN, presents Hollywood in Paris, a performance of the Triple Threat Dance & Theater Education Program, students and faculty, from May 5-8 on the Mainstage.  This production is sponsored by CCP’s Triple Threat Education sponsor, Spirit Broadband.

In the first few decades of the 20th century, Hollywood and New York artists, actors, dancers and composers flocked to Paris.  They went there for the freedom, beauty and historical richness of the grand old city.  Join us as the students of the Cumberland County Playhouse Triple Threat program explore the streets, sounds and styles of Paris, from the 1920s to modern times.  Stroll through the Louvre and the Tulieries, visit the Eiffel Tower, and hear jazz at its finest at the Chat Noir – all to the music of Cole Porter, Irving Berlin and the Gershwin’s, as well as many others.

Eldar Valiev, Lilia Valieva, Nicole Bégué Hackmann and Elliott Cunningham lead 150 students through this wonderful production, with choreography by Jennifer Austin, Ashley Austin, Leila Nelson, Cathy Blouin, Michael Ruff, Shannon Sullivan, Jensen Crain, Moriah McRae, Emily Swafford and Alli Crain.  Musical Theater staging is done by Nicole Bégué Hackmann, Weslie Webster, Lauren Marshall, Troy Misklevitz, Elliott Cunningham, and Leila Nelson; with music played by Marian Sullivan and Annie Crabtree.

CCP’s Triple Threat Education Program features training in major dance styles, musical theater and acting, preparing performers age 3 to adult as “triple threat” singer/dancers/actors.  Registration for the Summer Workshop (June 20-24) and fall classes are May 22 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at the Playhouse in Studio A.  For more details, call Eldar Valiev, Dance Director, at 931.484.8710, ext 246, or (for theater) Nicole Bégué Hackmann, Director of Education, at ext 233.

Currently at the Playhouse is the touching and heartfelt Tuesdays with Morrie, rated G and sponsored by Dr. Stanley Bise, through May 12; and Lerner and Loewe’s greatest musical, My Fair Lady, sponsored by VolFirst, through June 9.  Visit us at www.ccplayhouse.com or call 931.484.5000 for more information or to purchase tickets.
