Two Fulton women have been charged with a forgery offense for allegedly writing checks on a man’s closed checking account.
Kecia Collier, 29, and Ashley Emontson, 25, have each been arrested on 10 counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, according to a Fulton Police Department press release.
Police began investigating the alleged criminal activity after receiving information from a victim who said someone had written numerous checks on his checking account which had been closed for over eight years. The checks allegedly were written and passed at several businesses in Fulton.
Fulton Police Chief Terry Powell reported the women were questioned and confessed to passing the checks for merchandise.
The women were arrested and transported to the Fulton County (Ky.) Detention Center.
