Union City police are investigating the apparent theft of a utility trailer from behind a small store on West Reelfoot Avenue.
Barry McKinnis of Union City told police he had a utility trailer parked behind China Grove Store on West Reelfoot Avenue, near the old Reelfoot Packing Co., and he noticed Tuesday morning it was missing.
The trailer was last seen about 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to a Union City Police Department report.
The 6-foot-10-inch by 12-foot trailer is custom built and has a dual axle. McKinnis told police it has a new tire mounted to the right side of the trailer and he also added two back savers which are painted yellow and mounted on the left and right rails. The trailer has a two-foot dove tail and a 30-inch tailgate.
The trailer is valued at $1,900, according to the report.
