A South Fulton woman has been charged with theft in connection with the alleged taking of money from the Fulton store where she was employed.
Mildred J. Truelove, 35, was charged Friday with felony theft by unlawful taking, according to a Fulton Police Department report.
She was arrested and transported to the Fulton County Detention Center in Hickman, Ky.
Fulton police had received a complaint of the alleged theft Friday from the area manager at Pocket’s Shell Food Mart there. The area manager claimed an employee had been caught stealing and told police the employee was cooperating with the investigation. Shortly after 9 a.m., a police patrol officer interviewed the suspect.
Fulton Police Chief Terry Powell said Ms. Truelove provided a written statement to both her employer and the police officer. The reported amount of the ongoing theft was about $1,700.
