At least three people sustained possible injuries when two vehicles collided Wednesday afternoon and one of them then struck a sign and a building.
The crash occurred about 4:40 p.m. at South First and Vine streets, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Kayla Christine Winston, 25, of 2327 Norwood Drive, Union City, was eastbound on Vine Street in a 2006 Ford van owned by Generations Health Association when she allegedly failed to yield at a yield sign and collided with a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Justin Brock Lowrance, 29, of 400 Woodlawn, Kenton, and owned by the City of Union City for the water department.
The van driven by Ms. Winston then collided with a sign and a building, causing damage to the sign, a gutter and the building. The building at 209 North First St. is owned by Terry Cooper.
Police reported that Lowrance and two of Ms. Winston’s seven passengers, Chance Allen, 25, and Jeffery Raymer, 21, both of Martin, sustained possible injuries. They were all transported by ambulance to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City’s emergency room.
Both vehicles sustained major damage, according to the report.
Ms. Winston was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
