UTM football team
to scrimmage Sat.
The UT Martin football team will have an intra-squad scrimmage at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hardy M. Graham Stadium.
The team will have a short practice beginning at 10:30 followed by the controlled exhibition on the UTM football turf.
“This will be our third and last Saturday scrimmage,” head coach Jason Simpson said. “We will wrap up spring practice Wednesday night with our final scrimmage.”
The coach said the scrimmage on Wednesday should start at around 7 p.m.
The Skyhawk defense dominated the (second) scrimmage this past Saturday.
“This was the best scrimmage for the defense this spring,” Simpson said. “We are starting to play faster and the players are beginning to understand the terminology like they need to.
“The defense got the best of the offense.”
The Skyhawks open the 2011 season Sept. 1 at Jacksonville State University.
