Mrs. Paula Pounds Hood, 56, of Milan, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Milan General Hospital.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Milan First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Pate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Milan with Bodkin Funeral Home of Milan in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will at the funeral on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and at the church today from 10 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Hood was born Aug. 7, 1954, daughter of Charles Pounds of Martin and the late Mildred Giles Pounds. She was a graduate of Martin High School and the University of Tennessee at Martin. She was a customer service representative for State Farm Insurance Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Milan and taught Little Creepers Sunday School Class.
Survivors also include her husband, Mike Hood of Milan; two sons, Drew Hood and Will Hood, both of Milan; one sister, Pam Williamson of Martin and her stepmother, Mrs. Joyce Pounds of Martin.
Memorials may be made to the Milan First Baptist Church or Wings Cancer Fund, %West Clinic, Memphis.

Jerry Lynn Knott
Jerry Lynn Knott, 59, of Paris, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at his residence.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Paris with Jerry Lee, Trent Bullock and Gary Collier officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Paris with Ridgeway Funeral Home of Paris in charge of the arrangements.
Jeff Hearington, Roy Lewis, Leslie Sykes, Joel Deal, Harland Crawford, Bob Kenworthy and Tommy Moody served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Wayne McGee and Dr. David Travis.
Knott was born March 23, 1952 in Paris, son of the late Cedric Eugene and Mildred Mae McClain Knott. He was the owner and president of Knott’s Wholesale Foods, Inc. He served in the National Guard for eight years and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include wife of 38 years, Mrs. Cynthia “Cindy” Kesterson Knott of Paris; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and David Boyd of Newnan, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Joshua “Josh” and Amy Knott, Brian Jeremy “B. J.” and Melinda Knott, all of Paris; one sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Joe Gagnon of Memphis; one brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Norma Knott of Paris; and five grandchildren, Connor Knott, Brianna Knott, Chloe Knott, Jessica Knott and Rachel Knott, all of Paris.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Rose Anah Knott.
