New firm managing course Posted: Monday, April 11, 2011 6:18 pm Goodyear’s Wingfoot Golf Course will not be affected by the tire plant’s closing, which is good news for area golfers. Management of the golf course has been taken over by J D Turf Management Inc. The company actually took over taking care of the golf course on Jan. 1 and is working at the course from 7 a.m. to dusk daily. The Wingfoot Golf Course plays over 6,800 yards of gently sloping Bermuda fairways and championship ultra-dwarf Bermuda greens. The 18-hole golf course and the park area are designated as a wildlife sanctuary. The golf course is located at 3169 Perry Browder Road, just north of the Goodyear plant. The course is open to the public. J D Turf Management employs a staff of eight and is owned by Joey Daugharty. , |
