Police are investigating the weekend vandalism of Coca-Cola™ vending machines outside two Union City businesses.
About 2:45 a.m. Saturday, a police officer found a Coke machine turned over face-down outside HCI Suppy at 1501 South First St., according to a Union City Police Department report.
A Coca-Cola Bottling Co. employee picked up the machine and told police that, once flipped over, a machine is totaled. The cost is $3,000, police reported.
After the discovery, other officers made a check of area businesses and found a Coke machine was also turned over outside Big Lots at 1410 South First St. The Coke employee said the machine was totaled, also resulting in about $3,000 worth of damage, according to the report.
