WLJT to air McWherter’s Nashville memorial service

A memorial service is planned in Nashville this Saturday for the late Gov. Ned Ray McWherter, who died after a battle with cancer on Monday. The event is planned to begin at 2 p.m. at the War Memoiral Auditorium in downtown Nashville.

Guest speakers include former President Bill Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore.

The event will be broadcast in high definition live on WLJT-TV Channel 11.2.

A second memorial is planned for the late governor, which will take place on the front lawn of McWherter’s home on Linden Street in Dresden. It will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
