Westview soccer player moves on to the next level

Westview senior soccer player Melissa Johnson committed to play at the college level by signing scholarship papers with Freed-Hardeman University on Wednesday.  Johnson scored 25 goals during the fall and was named the Region 8A-AA Offensive Player of the Year. Those joining Johnson at her signing ceremony were (seated, from left) her mother, Patty; her father, Tom; (standing, from left) FHU soccer coach Jason Elliott, siblings Andrew and Jennifer; and Westview girls’ soccer coach Dylan Cupples. “She was definitely the one I turned to when we were in a tight spot,” Cupples said of Johnson.
