South Fulton ‘a hit’ in blankings of LC

South Fulton hit Lake County hard in a twinbill on Tuesday.
The Lady Falcons barely got a hit against the Devilettes.
All totaled, the SF pitching staff allowed just one hit on Tuesday afternoon as the Devilettes prevailed 15-0 in Game 1 and 10-0 in the second contest.
LC’s lone safety came in the opening contest when Sara Reams spun a one-hitter in a game that was called after three frames due to the 10-run rule in a five-inning contest.

In other softball action on Tuesday, Obion Central edged Ripley 4-3 in a District 13AA contest.

The Devilettes set the pace quickly in the opening game of the doubleheader.
South Fulton broke out the bats and exploded for 13 runs in the home half of the opening frame.
Macy Maxwell homered twice and drove in a total of five runs for the Devilettes, while Haley McKinney doubled twice and chased in a trio in Game 1.
Also, Paxton Sisson doubled and drove one it, while Chelsie Pitts was a perfect 3-for-3 with a two-bagger and one RBI.
Reams, who struck out one, assisted her mound cause with two ribbies.
Desiray Sturgeon also had a hit and stolen base.
In Game 2, McKinney struck out seven and walked zero.
However, two errors denied the standout SF hurler a shot at a perfect game.
Kaci Daugherty was 3-for-4 in the second game with a double and RBI, while McKinney knocked a two-bagger and drove in two.
Claire McConnell also had two ribbies for the Devilettes (8-0).
South Fulton hosts Halls on Thursday.
OC 4, Ripley 3
Kayla Bramlett tripled, while Payton Robertson, Meaghen Strayhorn and Alex Wilson all doubled for the victorious Lady Rebels.
Bramlett, Wilson, Carly Whipple and Emily Pickard each had one RBI during the win.
Senior Mandi McDaniel was the lone Lady Rebel with a multiple-hit game.
She finished 2-for-3 for the outing.
Strayhorn was the winning pitcher.
Obion Central (16-4-1) returns to the diamond on Thursday in a make-up game against Dyersburg.
The varsity game is slated to start at 7 with a junior varsity game scheduled for 5:30.
