Highway Patrol plans road blocks
The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct Sobriety Checkpoints in Gibson and Weakley counties on April 8 and will be conducting Traffic Enforcement Roadblocks for both counties on April 22.
Recognizing the danger presented to the public by unlicensed drivers and unsafe vehicles and intoxicated drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who would violate the law by operating unlicensed or by operating unsafe vehicles and drivers who would violate the law by operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has found these Traffic Enforcement and Sobriety Checkpoint Roadblocks to be an effective mans of enforcing the motor vehicle statues and Driving Under the Influence statues of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
