Max Glynn Babb, 76, of Sparta, formerly of Union City, died April 2, 2011, at the home of his daughter, Lee Ann Kelly of Sparta.
Services will be noon Tuesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with John Dale officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday. His grandsons will be pallbearers.
The family requests that memorials be made to Relay for Life.
He was born July 4, 1934, in Fulton, son of the late George and Beulah (McCree) Babb. He married the former Margie Herchenhahn Jan. 20, 1961. She died May 11, 1999. He had worked in maintenance at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City for 27 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Sunswept Baptist Church in Union City.
He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tina Babb of Batesville, Miss.; his son-in-law, Tony Kelly of Sparta; four grandchildren, Roman Kelly and Ryan Kelly, both of Sparta, and Mitchel Babb and Tyler Babb, both of Batesville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Babb and Robert Babb; and his sister, Mildred Ruth Thompson.
