Lesley King Chessor, 86, of Union City died April 2, 2011, at Van Ayer Manor Nursing Home in Martin.
Services were set for 10 a.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Chessor officiating. Burial was to follow in Mount Ararat Cemetery near Troy.
Pallbearers were to be Allen Smith, Danal Douthit, Andrew Thayer and Jason Madding.
He was born July 14, 1924, in Waverly, son of the late Jessie Brown and Annie (Blackwell) Chessor. He married the former Marjorie Ragsdale Dec. 12, 1975. She survives. He had been employed at U.S. Steel in Gary, Ind., as a forklift operator. He was a member of Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Troy.
Survivors also include his daughter, Dianne Ellegood of Troy; his son, Robert Chessor of Hornbeak; seven grandchildren; his stepson, Steve Calhoun of Union City; and six step-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Marilyn Cable; his son, Gary Chessor; his stepdaughter, Brenda Tosh; and his stepson, Tommy Calhoun.
