Helen Ruth Bell, 80, of South Fulton died 8:30 p.m. April 2, 2011, at Regional Hospital in Jackson.
A memorial service is planned for 5 p.m. today at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton. There will be no visitation. Friends and family are asked to meet at the funeral home in time for the service.
She was born April 19, 1930, in Fulton, daughter of the late Herman Robert and Annie Mae (Roberts) St. John. She married Eddie E. Bell Sr. May 7, 1948. He survives. She had lived in Obion County all her life and was a retired licensed practical nurse who a worked at the former Volunteer General Hospital in Martin.
She was a member of Walnut Grove Church in South Fulton and Order of the Eastern Star, Mud Hens and American Motorcycle Association. She had also been a Boy Scout Council instructor.
Survivors also include her daughter, Jan Bell of Boston; two sons, Eddie Bell Jr. and James J. Bell, both of Fulton; five grandchildren, Chris Covington of Dresden, Russell Covington of Tiptonville, Josh Bell of Iron Furnace, Alexander Ansari of San Francisco and William Ansari of San Diego; two great-grandchildren, Amanda Mann of Jackson and Emily Oliver of Boston; and her brother, Neal St. John of Sun City, Ariz.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
