UCMS is lone victor among local entries
A win, a tie and a loss.
All three of the possible final scenarios in soccer were on display among the local teams on Thursday.
The Union City Middle School co-ed team was the lone winner, blanking Dyersburg 4-0.
Meanwhile, the Obion Central boys tied with McKenzie 2-2.
The South Fulton soccer squad — in its first campaign — lost by an 8-1 count at Milan on Thursday.
UCMS 4, Dyersburg 0
The Torndoes got goals from Will Harris, Noel Majia, Cesar Eros and Cace Cook to improve to 3-2.
Goal keeper Will Thralls posted the shutout.
Union City will next play April 12 against Christ Classical Academy in Dyersburg.
OC 2, McKenzie 2
After trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Rebels (2-1-2) battled back to  tie.
Juan Mora booted a penalty kick and Tanner Noles — assisted by both Jackson Smith and Mora — tied the contest.
Obion Central goalie Samuel Smith had five saves.
The Rebel soccer team travels to Haywood on Tuesday.
Milan 8, SF 1
The Red Devils (0-4) trailed 2-0 at halftime on Thursday night.
Dominic White kicked in the lone SF goal on a direct free kick.
The South Fulton soccer team returns to the field on Monday at home against Gibson County. That match is slated to kick off at 6 p.m.
