Warren G. Griffin

Warren G. Griffin, 90, of Greenfield, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at his residence.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Greenfield with Dewayne Thomas, Gary Smithson and Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Greenfield.

Mark Sampson, David Galey, William Griffin, Ronnie McKee, Tim Neal and Robert Conway served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Mikie Griffin, Josh Griffin, Kevin Edge Jr., Tyler Griffin and Justin Hoffman.

Griffin was born Nov. 3, 1920 in Greenfield, son of the late Charles Adam and Wilma Jane Cook Griffin. He was the widower of Dorothy Smithson Griffin. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a highly honored veteran and member of General George Patton Regiment, and was a truck driver for Akin-Porter Produce.

Survivors include two sons, Ricky Dale Griffin and Donald K. Griffin, both of Greenfield; three daughters, Saundra June Williamson and Linda Carol Arnold, both of Greenfield and Paula Renae Griffin of South Fulton; three sisters, Velderine Long and Grace Helen Mitchell, both of Trezevant and Novella Dotson of Greenfield; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Michael W. Griffin; and three sisters, Excell Flowers, Stella Neal and Lucille Conway.
