Join the nearly 4 million walkers nationwide in taking steps in the fight against cancer during the American Cancer Society’s inaugural mini-Relay For Life at the University of Tennessee-Martin. The mini-Relay event will be held Friday, April 8, at the new student recreation center on campus.
It will begin at 6 p.m. and end at approximately 3 a.m., Saturday, April 9.
This event celebrates cancer survivors, remembers those we have lost and provides the campus and community as a whole an opportunity to unite and fight back against this disease.
Weakley County and surrounding area cancer survivors are invited to attend and participate in the Survivor’s Lap and a Luminaria Ceremony will be held at 11 p.m.
A donation of $2.00 for a luminaria is requested to help support the Tennessee-Martin event. Food will also be available at the mini-Relay. Funds raised will support Relay For Life of Weakley West’s event goal.
Funds raised through Relay For Life support the American Cancer Society mission to create a world with more birthdays by helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding cures and fighting back.
