Norma Sue (Rudd) Huey, 74, of Troy died March 29, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with Bobby Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Troy’s Campground Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Storey, Jeff Rudd, Fred Parker, Carol Charlton, Greg Huey, Billy Killion and Steve Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
The family requests that memorials be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
She was born Sept. 24, 1936, in Weakley County, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Bette (Davis) Rudd. She married Harold Leeper Huey in October 1956. He died July 15, 2004. She was a retired teacher for the Obion County School System, where she was employed for 25 years. She also served as a substitute teacher through 2010. Mrs. Huey had been a girls junior high basketball coach for the former Troy Junior High School and a cheerleading sponsor at Obion County Central High School. She was a member of Obion County-Union City Retired Teachers Association and Main Street Church of Christ in Troy.
She is survived by two sons and her daughter-in-law, Steven Harold Huey of Troy and Gregory Paul and Judy Huey of Hornbeak; four grandchildren and the spouse of one, Magan and Brandon Ward of Murfreesboro, Katelin Huey of Knoxville and Gregory Paul Huey II and Macy Huey, both of Hornbeak; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Gerald Storey of Troy; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Kathleen Rudd and Luther and Zora Mae Rudd, all of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robbie Lynn Rudd, Sammy Rudd and Sonny Davis.
